MY STORY

On June 2nd, I celebrated the final night of my twenties by hosting a paint-and-sip event for my friends. The power of creativity was on full display as we painted heart canvas magnets and engaged in surface to soulful conversations. As our hands are kept busy, our minds and bodies find rest and become at ease, allowing our hearts to connect, opening ourselves up, allowing our truest selves to be seen and known. This experience affirmed the undeniable impact of art in bringing people together and fostering connections. 

During my early twenties, I took on a year-long doodle challenge, dedicating 30 minutes daily to visually journal about my day. This creative exercise of doodling and scribbling my frustrations/feelings out led me to find my voice. My sketchbook became a space to process and discern truth from lies, bringing new hope, joy, awareness, and confidence. This commitment ultimately inspired the launch of my business, Ladoru, with a strong mission to spread compassion and love through our designs and products.

Now, at the age of 30, I reflect on my twenties and realize that working with children and empowering them to find their voice has always been a deep passion of mine. I am committed to providing children worldwide with the transformative power of creativity. This summer, I have the opportunity to turn this vision into reality. I will be joining Reach Up Reach Out (RURO) to host a creative worship and arts camp for 200 orphans and will also support 500 vulnerable women in Uganda. Together, we can empower these individuals to discover their own creativity, find their voice, envision a brighter future, and most of all feel safe, seen, loved, and known.
